MOL, Manned Orbiting Laboratory, Diorama Model
The MOL, Manned Orbiting Laboratory, was a military experimental space program that tested the United States’ ability to perform military actions in space. It was to be capable of housing a two-man crew in a 10-foot by 40-foot long laboratory able to accommodate 30-day missions and a variety of experiments. Unfortunately, the MOL project never reached space. It had a test launch in 1966 and was canceled abruptly in June of 1969 because of time constraint and high military cost of the Vietnam War.
