In December of 2005, Qantas Airways Limited selected the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to be part of its Jetstar domestic Australia operation. Qantas plans to order 45 airplanes with 20 option and purchase rights for 50 additional jetliners. The 787 will provide economic and passenger comfort advantages that will allow Qantas and Jetstar to compete effectively while adding or increasing services.
