J-2 develops 200,000 pounds of thrust. It is being produced at Canoga, Calif. plant of Rocketdyne, a division of North American Aviation, Inc., for NASA's Marshall Space flight Center. A single J-2 will power the S-IVB stage being built by Douglas Aircraft Company for the second stage of the Saturn IB vehicle and the third stage of Saturn V.
