The Delta expendable launch vehicle has been launching satellites since 1960. Delta IIs are manufactured in Huntington Beach, CA. Rocketyne, a division of The Boeing Company, builds Delta II's main engine in Canoga Park, Calif. Final assembly takes place at the Boeing facility in Pueblo, Colo. The next generation of Mars probes were launched on Delta II rockets in December 1998 and January 1999.
