F-4B Phantom II on Snowy Ground

At the end of the 1950s McDonnell introduced the F-4 Phantom II, one of the most versatile fighters ever. Originally designed for the Navy, F-4s saw duty with the Air Force, Marines andU.S. allies. It was designed to fly at twice the speed of sound. A total of 5,057 Phantoms were built, with more than 1,000 still in service today.
