C-17 Globemaster III on Tarmac

Two C-17s from the 437th Airlift Wing sit with a light dusting of snow at Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany being readied for flights into Hungary and Bosnia as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. The 12 Charleston Air Force Base C-17s were the workhorse of the Air Mobility Command's efforts in the peacekeeping operation in the former Yugoslavia, flying more missions, carrying more cargo and more personnel than any other AMC airlifter. The C-17s carried humanitarian aid, combat equipment and even pontoon bridge sections during the operation.
