Boeing launched the ecoDemonstrator program in 2012 to enable aviation’s
relentless pursuit to improve efficiency, minimize its environmental footprint and
enhance safety. Boeing committed that all commercial airplanes it delivers will be certified for the capability to fly using 100% sustainable aviation fuel by 2030. The ecoDemonstrator program has significantly benefited the industry as a whole as Boeing has tested and further developed aggressive goals to increase the use of sustainable aviation fuel. SAF reduces life-cycle CO 2 emissions by up to 80%, with the potential to eliminate emissions in the future.
