NASA recently awarded Boeing a risk-reduction contract for ultra-efficient subsonic transport research.

The contract spans both the Blended Wing Body and Transonic Truss-braced Wing vehicle concepts developed by Boeing Research & Technology.

The contracts will continue research of key technologies that will bring both concepts closer to a flight demonstrator.
