Boeing Test & Evaluation pilots Capt. Mark Feuerstein and Capt. Paul Stemer were at the controls during the 4-hour, 25-minute first flight. During that time, the 747-8 Intercontinental flew a route that first took the crew out across the Olympic Peninsula, and then over Central Washington. The pilots performed a series of tests during the flight, including routine functional checks of the airplane systems as well as some stability and control tests.
