Of all the early Boeing jets, the 727 had the most distinctive appearance, with its rakish T-shaped tail and its trio of rear-mounted engines. It carried billions of passengers on everything from short hops to cross-country flights.Production of the 727 extended from the early 1960s to August 1984, a remarkable length of time, considering the original market forecast was for 250 airplanes. As it turned out, 1,831 were delivered. Twenty years later, when the last 727 was delivered, this versatile fleet was carrying 13 million passengers each month.BI43288 (BIV13_727_01)Maximum size:720px × 480px (~28 MB)License type:Rights ManagedDuration:1m14sKeywords:1960s-1968 Red and White Livery-727 family-727-200-air to air-airplanes-commercial-commercial passenger planes-exteriors-flying-full body views-jets-monoplanes-out of production-takeoffsRelated Photo/Videos:View AllRelated Virtual folders:727
