777 Full Scale Static Testing, January 1995
The second 777 off the assembly line at the Everett Assembly facility was used as the test article for the structural integrity of the Boeing 777. A computer-controlled test rig applied one-half millions pounds of force to each wing to test the static load limit (up-bending, down-bending, and asymmetric bending) and validate the structure could withstand more than twice its design-limit load.
The Boeing 777 family is a complete family of jetliners that is preferred by passengers and airlines around the world. The 777 is available in six models: the 777-200, 777-200ER (Extended Range), a larger 777-300, two new longer-range models, the 777-300ER and 777-200LR Worldliner (the world's longest range commercial airplane) and the Boeing 777 Freighter.
