737 AEW&C Wedgetail Model

Boeing will provide the Commonwealth of Australia's Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) with an Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system based on the Next-Generation 737-700 aircraft platform. The program, named "Wedgetail" after Austrailia's native eagle, provides a variety of aircraft control and advanced radar systems. Boeing begain flight testing the mission system aboard Project Wedgetail in June 2007. Delivery of the first two aircraft is scheduled for March 2009. The remaining four aircraft will be delivered later that year.
