737-700 in New Boeing Livery Taxiis on Runway in Front of a 777 Taking Off

This 737 is pictured in the majestic shades of blue and white inspired by the Earth and sky that highlight the new look Boeing is adopting as its Commercial Airplanes brand colors. The new Boeing livery draws its inspiration from the Boeing “Horizon” ad campaign, with a paint scheme that flows along the fuselage in lines reminiscent of the earthÆs gently curved horizon. The colors û whites, fresh blues and aqua û are suggestive of the colors of our planet as it appears from space. The new livery is unique from other paint designs in that there are only two hard lines on the airplaneÆs design û the top and bottom of the “horizon” line. All other colors in the livery blend seamlessly across the fuselage and wings. Boeing painters used an automotive painting technique called “fading” to attain this effect. This paint process takes between five and seven days to complete on a Boeing 737, instead of the standard three days.
