PCH-1 Hydrofoil "High Point"
The Highpoint was a 110 foot submarine chaser that used propellers. It was a fast, highly maneuverable, all-weather testbed that Boeing developed and launched on August 7, 1962 to utilize jet airplane systems in a marine environment.
With a maximum speed of 50 knots, the High Point served as the Navy’s prime research vessel for boats that “flew” over water on underwater wings.
