The 5,000th B-17 built after Pearl Harbor carried the signatures of all the people who built her in the Boeing Seattle Plant 2.
5 Grand completed 78 bombing missions with the 96th Bomb Group, two food supply missions, and two POW flights during its tour of duty in Europe. It flew back to the USA and was scrapped in 1946
